COVID-19 Update

4/9/2020

Dear Fresh Start Parents,

A reminder that there will be no school tomorrow due to the Holiday. An update to our schedule for next week: We will be OFF on Monday and Tuesday, giving everyone an extra long weekend. We recognize the impact that this pandemic has had on all of our lives and that it can be very emotionally draining as we contemplate the worries and stresses placed on all of our families. It is important to take good care of each other during this time of uncertainty.

We are now offering a weekly virtual parent support group and you are all invited to take advantage of it. Our next meeting is Wednesday 4/15 at 7pm via google meet. Please contact Dan at dan.sitcovsky@focuscenterforautism.org if interested in joining!

Now that we are almost four weeks into closure, we want to know how our families are feeling about the distance learning plans thus far. We greatly appreciate your feedback and will consider it in determining how we can best meet the needs of our students and families.

Here are some questions to guide your feedback:

How is it working out overall?

Is the work load at a comfortable level?

Is the technology easily accessible?

How can we better support the students and their families?

Does your family need any additional resources during this time?

Does your student or family need additional clinical support?

Please also share one success that your child or family has experienced during distance learning.

We want to thank all the parents so much for their support and hard work while we navigate this new world of distant learning. Thank you and I hope everyone has a relaxing extra long weekend to spend with their families!
