COVID-19 Update
3/12/2020
Dear Fresh Start Families,
The safety of our students and staff continue to be our highest priority. We will continue to work together to ensure we are taking preventative measures as well as preparing for and responding to potential school closures due to the Coronavirus.
Our staff continue to diligently clean and disinfect our school building. All high traffic surfaces (doorknobs, chairs, desk tops, etc.) are disinfected daily.
As of this date, we are not planning to close school. School closures may become a necessity as updates become available. In the event of a closure, we are making plans so that we are able to meet clinical and academic needs of our students remotely. Days will be made up at the end of the year.
As a precautionary measure we have been advised to cancel or postpone all field trips, work placements in the community, and social clubs through March 31st, at which time we will reassess the risk.
Prevention continues to be our primary strategy. We are asking our students families to please have your child wash their hands thoroughly before heading off to school. If they are sick please keep them home.
Upon arrival, staff will have the students wash their hands when they come into the building.
If students or staff become sick at school, they will be kept at a distance from others and sent home as soon as possible. Please ensure that emergency contacts are up to date with the school and that they will be available to pick up your child if you are not able to pick them up in a timely fashion.
Please do not hesitate to reach us with any questions or concerns at 860-693-8809 or via email.
